A Simple Way to Create Web Pages

Creating Your First Site

With the basic information contained on these pages, you can now create a basic web site. Follow these simple steps:

1. Gather your information and images
2. Organize your information
3. Sketch out your layout on sheets of paper placing your information and images as you would want them on your site
4. Select file names for each separate page and add your nav bar to your pages
5. Open your text editor and begin writing the code for your home page
6. Save your files in their own folder within your Webpages directory
7. As you work, open your pages in Internet Explorer and in Netscape Navigator and check their appearance to be certain they look as you had planned
8. Check your links to make sure they work properly, including your email links
9. When you are done, you are ready to publish your site
